About

Malu fell in love with acting at an early age. Growing up in Brazil, she was a part of a theatre group that would go from school to school doing Gospel musical performances for students. She also has a lot of experience in theatre, participating in productions such as Beauty and The Beast - The Musical, The Nerd, The Woman in Black, Talk To Me Like The Rain And Let Me Listen, My Name Is Rachel Corrie and others.

She received her theatre training at Biola University, where she got her Bachelors degree in Drama and Communications. There she studied under Mark Atteberry (Scandal, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Gone Girl, Grey's Anatomy), Forrest Robinson (Spacechild, Chaisson: Quest for Oriud, The Electric Ocean), and Dr. Kate Brandon (Photography Production Coordinator for ABC Television, Executive Assistant for Fox Family Channel, PhD in Theatre from Wayne State University).

There she took Beginning and Intermediate Acting, Acting Styles (Shakespearean, Greek), Writing for Performance, Directing Theatre and Voice & Speech (radio). These classes provided her with a solid foundation upon which she expanded her acting techniques.

Malu also recently graduated from New York Film Academy with her Masters degree in Acting for Film. Some of her professors and their respective classes are:

Suzanne Kent (7th Heaven, The Ellen Show, Honey I Blew Up the Kid, founder of the Groundlings - The Sunday Company) - Improv

George McGrath (Big Top Pee-wee, Based on an Untrue Story, Fagney & Gaycey, Emmy nominee for Pee-Wee’s Playhouse) - Sketch Comedy

Cathy Giannone (David and Luisa, Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2, Crumbs) - Scene Study, Meisner

Anne Moore (The Wrong Priest, Vegas, Good Intentions) - Stage to Screen

Jennice Butler (Blueberry Cornelius, How to Fake It in America, Growth) - Voice & Speech

Christopher Cass (ER, As The World Turns, Loving) - Acting for Film

Each day she continues to perfect her craft with the help of her teachers and with dedication.

Her dream role would be to one day act with Meryl Streep, Johnny Depp and Jennifer Lawrence.
